10 Common Faults and Solutions During Water Well Drilling
1. Drill stuck: The reason is mostly that the drill bit encounters hard formations or the drill tool bends in the hole. When handling, the drill tool can be moved up and down, gently lifted and placed. If it does not work, use a jar to jar and unblock it. 2. Drill tool broken: It is caused by wear of the drill tool or uneven force. After discovery, drilling should be stopped immediately, the broken drill tool should be salvaged, replaced with a new one, and the connection of the drill tool should be checked. 3. Well leakage: It is mostly caused by large pores in the formation or the development of cracks. You can inject plugging materials such as cement slurry, mud and sawdust to seal it. 4. Pump does not supply water: Check whether the suction pipe of the pump is leaking, whether the impeller is damaged, and make corresponding repairs or replacements. 7. Burning drill: often caused by interruption of flushing fluid and large rotation resistance of drilling tools. Stop drilling immediately, try to restore the circulation of flushing fluid, and cool the drilling tools. 8. Drill rod falling off: caused by loose connection threads. Salvage the fallen drill rod in time, re-tighten the connection threads, and check regularly. 9. Hole wall collapse: caused by unstable formation or poor mud wall protection effect.
