Why slurry pumps fail to transfer liquids
Why slurry pumps fail to transfer liquids
Cause:
Air left in suction piping or pump
Inlet or outlet side piping valves are closed
Use of a head higher than the maximum head of the pump
Air leakage in the suction pipe of the pump
Impeller rotating in the wrong direction
Transmission height too high
Suction pipe too small or clogged with debris
Rotation speed does not match
Treatment:
Dwell full of liquid and remove air
Open the valve
Replace the pump with one with a higher head
Eliminate side leakage on inlet side
Correct motor steering
Reduce pump mounting height to increase inlet pressure
Increase the diameter of the suction pipe to eliminate obstructions.
Adjust the speed
